The Christopher P. Dunne Foundation

Serving Mankind In Life's Endeavors

Friendly Connections

One of Chris’s pet peeves was not being able to just hang out with a group of Friends at the same time. It seemed that no place could accommodate the space needed or meet the accessibility requirements to put everyone at ease to be able to just socialize with friends for a night out. A new program was created by the C.P. Dunne Foundation known as Friendly Connections. The Foundation, in collaboration with the Breakheart Reservation’s CPD Visitor’s Center, is proud to be able to facilitate Friendly Connections. This is an informal gathering for young adults with disabilities. A place to have a bite to eat, mingle, laugh and just hang out with friends. Click the links to the right to watch some of the past fun.

Looney Birds

Every winter, I clean out my video and photography closet and a picture fell out of one of the albums. How ironic it was.The picture on the left was taken at the base of Loon Mountain in New Hampshire. On the far left is Chris' brother Brian. Imagine that lad is now in college! Way in the back row smiling is a young Colleen. She is now a school teacher. Just before I threw Chris' mom Cathy off my lap into the fresh fallen snow, someone snapped this picture. Yes, winter brings up some fond memories of the mountains and watching Chris ski down the mountain in adaptive ski equipment.
