In autumn of 1995, I was invited to go to the original first site visit of The Soda and Snack Stop with Christopher and his father Richard. During this time, I realized how much behind the scenes work there was running a vending machine business and how many steps such as loading the machines, checking inventory, deciding what products sell the best and most importantly, counting the money...

Christopher convinced me to take a ride on a Zip line. many years ago, on a trip to Camp Sargeant with Christopher and friends from the Partners Program once called 'YIPI' Youth In Preparation for Independence', we rode the zip line together, sat around the camp fire and went canoeing. This is only one of many adventures that Christopher demonstrated again and again that 'Obstacles are meant to overcome or find a way around them' to reach your goal.

For years since Christopher set sail on my blue ocean, I started writing stories about our adventures together. The problem I keep running into is that there were so many adventures within the adventures, I would end up side tracked in the wee hours of the morning typing on my keyboard. Typing is not my best trait since my two index fingers and my thumb that occasionally hits the space bar are the ones doing most of the work. My brain runs much faster...
So I ask myself the question, do I write Christopher's stories in reverse chronological order or from the first day I met Christopher? What if I just put these stories in order of appearance as I have written them, hapharzardly telling them as one thought reminds me of that time that we... You get my point.
How do you tell Christopher's Stories? I could tell them as an observer, which limits me to the times we were doing something together, or do I tell the stories as I heard them from others, whether it was on a cruise ship, in the hotel room after a long day in Disney, at the base of Loon Mountain, or at the table in Chatham as we all built puzzles together?
Whether it was the years that Chris was here with us or after he continued his journey beyond the horizon, I still hear the first sentence telling us that we were going to hear a tale of a young lad, a friend. It will always start with this:
"I remember when Christopher..."
I will share my stories and the ones that others who knew Chris have told me or will tell me. I will share them with you, right here on this page of Christopher's Stories and Videos. - George

My first acquaintance with Christopher was through Maria Canglia, when I went to the M.D.C Breakheart Reservation, where she and Chris worked together in the Visitor’s Center. Back then is was called the M.D.C. At that time, it was known to me that Chris had a favorite, called ‘Easy Mac’, a cheese and macaroni meal that he enjoyed. I decided from then on I would add ‘easy Mac’ in the packages during every season for him throughout the year.
Early one morning, I took a trip to Breakheart in Saugus and delivered in person a package of treats. Chris spotted my car as drove up the path leading to the visitor’s Center. He was the first to greet me at the door, politely shaking my hand. I introduced myself and announced to him,
“Here is a package, also inside was a package of your favorite ‘Easy Mac’ I will help you put things away.”
Christopher’s response was, “Leave it to me; it is easy for me to take care of it.”
It was a day to remember, Chris bright eyes and his infectious smile to me, a stranger. Amazed, also delighted indeed, it was my pleasure to leave the packages in his hands. I wished Maria and Chris a good day and headed back home to Cambridge Massachusetts.
After learning days later of Christopher’s joy receiving his package and ‘Easy Mac’, all I could think of was his warm-hearted greeting that day. My first time acquaintance that day left me with a lifetime memory of Christopher.
The old Visitor’s Center at Breakheart when it was the M.D.C. is long gone, replaced with a newer accessible building named the Christopher P. Dunne Visitor’s Center. The D.C.R. now operates Breakheart Reservation. I thought occurred that to me the letters D.C.R. will stand for:
Dunne Christopher Rewarded
May God bless him in the New World of Peace.

I remember The first time Chris ordered Prime Rib. It was at a restaurant in the Grand Floridian at Disney World. For Chris, this was a very special evening. He was so excited with the thought that it was just great to be able to do his own ordering from the menu. He had all the waitresses smiling and jumping around for him like only he could. Chris had a special way with the ladies. A real gentleman, courteous in every way.
He would always asked me when the check came. Because it was such a special night, he wanted to see the total on this one. For the three of us, the total was over $175.00. Chris would always say "I wouldn't pay for it." We always had a big laugh. How Christopher would bring laughter into my life was pure magic.
As we left the restaurant and passed through the huge lobby at the Grand Floridian, Chris spotted a man immaculately dressed in a tuxedo, with long tails. He was sitting at the piano playing beautiful music. When the song ended, Chris wheeled over to the man and asked him to play a song for his dear friend.
As the notes emerged from the piano I could hear the lyrics as it was yesterday. I just sat there and I could feel the tears coming down my cheeks. He just sat there laughing. Chris really knew how to tug at my heart. To this day, when I hear 'Unforgettable' I think of that day, that slice of time when Chris had given me one of many moments of joy in my life. I loved him very much.
Unforgettable, that's what you are Unforgettable, thought near or far Like a song of love that climbs to me Is the thought of you that stings to me Never before Has someone been more
Unforgettable, in every way And forever more, that's how you stay That's why, darling, it's incredible That someone so unforgettable Thinks that I am Unforgettable too No, never before Has someone been more Unforgettable, in every way And forever more, that's how you stay That's why, darling, it's incredible That someone so unforgettable Thinks that I am Unforgettable too
